Here is my basic Test for this Friday. I still need a lot of practise but I think I did good.

Basic Maths

26.06.15, My basic facts practise.

Today in my basic facts maths I didn’t do well because I had 27/40.  It’s telling me that I need to think harder and to be quicker at my basic facts.

Fractions.

WALT: Find fractions of a quantity

1. Matthew is a huge rugby league fan and has 28 NRL cards. One quarter of them are Melbourne Storm cards. How many of them are Melbourne Storm cards?

STRATEGY: 28÷4= 7

7x1=7

SOLUTION SENTENCE:

There are 7 Melbourne  storm card all together.

2. In Mark’s class there are 18 children. ⅓ of them are boys. How many boys are in Mark’s class?  

STRATEGY: 18÷3=6

6x1=6

SOLUTION SENTENCE:

There are 6 boys in Mark’s class.

3. Luke has 32 first cousins. ¾ of them live in Auckland and the rest of them live in Wellington. How many of Luke’s cousins live in Auckland?

STRATEGY:24÷ 4=8

8x3=24

SOLUTION SENTENCE:

There are  24 cousins that live in Auckland.

This week for addition I got 100  right out of 100 and my time was 7:52.

This week for subtraction I got right out of 100 and my time was …...5:28

My goal is to be fast and accurate.

My Maths Book

This is my book from toondoo that I done today and I am going to show my soul friend. I hope my soul friends will love it. 

Shapes

1. An ellipse looks like an egg or a circle that has been sat on.

2. A 2 dimensional shapes are the same.

3. An equilateral sides are the same.

4. An Isosceles is shaped like a witches hat or an icicle.

5. A scalene lines are not the same.

6. A right angle has a 90%angle.

Fraction Practise

Example : ⅔ of 18 = 12
                  3 x 6 = 18        3 x 6 = 18
               6 x 2 = 12        6 x 2 = 12

1. ¼ of 36 = 9 ✔   4x9=36,  9x1=9

2. ⅖ of 40 =16 ✔ 5x8=40, 8x2=16           

3. ⅗ of 20 =12 ✔ 5x4=20, 4x3=12

4. ¾ of 24 =18 ✔ 4x6=24, 6x3=18

5. ⅔ of 24 = 16✔  3x8=24, 8x2=16

6. ⅘ of 60 = 48✔  5x12=60, 4x12=48

Fractions-Week5

A fractions is a piece of a whole.
It shows 2 number together. Fractions can be ordered.
My favourite things about fractions so far is bingo fraction.

Maths Reftection Week 2

Learning Intention I learn how to order Fractions.

A order Fractions is like biggest,to smallest numbers.

I know 1/2 1/5 1/4  1/10 and may be I will know all the halves and quarters.

I am still not sure about fraction because I am not that good on order fraction.

Maths Reflection Wk1-T3

Learning Intention: my learning Intention  for this week is understanding the place Value of numbers. 

Place Value is when you count the place Value blocks.

The massive cubes are the thousands, the flat squares are hundreds, the sticks are the tens and the little cubes are the ones.
