Explain you

Hi I am ilaisaane and I go to St Pius X Catholic School and I have a beautiful teacher and her name is Miss Leaupepe She is my teacher in room 6 I am a girl and I have a long hair. I have two sister and one brother that live at Tonga  I have a mum and a dad my dad lives in Tonga with my brother and my mum lives with me and my sisters. My family is full Tongan and me too I came from Tonga and now I live in Panmure. My favorite food is chocolate cake and lolli and pies and I have lots of friends that loves men.

Explain Hero

My super hero is my teacher and my mum. My mum alway practiced me and look after me that why I love her so much when I come back from school and she look at me if something happen to me. My teacher is my other hero because she always help me with my learning and is look after our class room.

In my future I want to be a police girl because I want to save people and try to tell to do the right thing and don’t drunk drive and if I don’t make it in to be a police. I want to be a doctor because I want to save children and my family and friend too.

Explain Surrounding

When I am older I went to live with my sister and a new house.that I can live in and I want to have kids because I love to look after kids and if I have kids I will love them just like I love my family and to travel around with my family.

WALT: Find fractions of a quantity

1. Matthew is a huge rugby league fan and has 28 NRL cards. One quarter of them are Melbourne Storm cards. How many of them are Melbourne Storm cards?

STRATEGY: 28÷4= 7

7x1=7

SOLUTION SENTENCE:

There are 7 Melbourne  storm card all together.

2. In Mark’s class there are 18 children. ⅓ of them are boys. How many boys are in Mark’s class?  

STRATEGY: 18÷3=6

6x1=6

SOLUTION SENTENCE:

There are 6 boys in Mark’s class.

3. Luke has 32 first cousins. ¾ of them live in Auckland and the rest of them live in Wellington. How many of Luke’s cousins live in Auckland?

STRATEGY:24÷ 4=8

8x3=24

SOLUTION SENTENCE:

There are  24 cousins that live in Auckland.

Reflections week 9

My highlight for week 9 is swimming because our teacher taught us a really cool game first she told us to line up inside the pool and she told us to run around when we stop the water was like dragging us around the pool and it was so cool.

My favorite highlight for the week 9 is math because I really learn something from last week now I am really getting to know all my math and I am getting better at it.

My lowlight for this week is talking to teacher because when teacher ask me a question I am so confuse and don’t know what to say and for the week I want to learn to talk better to teacher.

I am looking forward to swimming again because this time my class is going to swim with a teacher this time it will be funnier because it is our 100 day party and we are going to celebrate it.

Jonny's visit

Today we had a special visitor named Jonny Wartman he comes from Christchurch he has a daughter and a wife. He came to talk to us about being a graffiti artist, he told us a bit about himself. He said that he travels around New Zealand to create pictures. Many people paid him a lot of money for his amazing Graffiti paintings. He used his money to buy some paint.

After he talked to us we asked him some questions and after our talk with him he told us to come outside so he can show us one of his amazing work, we sat down in the shade and just looked at a blank white paper, suddenly he worked his magic hands and there was a beach, coconut,mountain, tree, flower and sand.

We were so amazed with his graffiti, we turned around and room 7 was looking outside the window. Some of them came outside to watch and he just worked his magic hands. In the end we took a photo with him, we didn’t want it to be end ,he was really amazing.

Nickson

On Wednesday we were lucky to have a visit from Nickson that works at the Mai FM. He came to tell us about what it is like to work at a radio station. 

He came inside our classroom  and he came and sat on the chair. He started talking and we started asking questions. He told us lots and lots of things about being on Mai FM. He told us that he always talks about his wife and how beautiful she is.

Nickson said to us that they only play 170 songs a week. He wakes up at 3:30am but he goes work at 4:30.pm He is so cool. He can record anywhere, he can even record in the plane. He told us three more things. First, he worked at five different radio stations in seven years. 

His friend Nate, always gets him in trouble with his boss. When people came they always put their hand on the Bible so that they always tell the truth. After our talk Nickson took out some CDs from his bag and some stickers and cards. After that he said, "Bye" and he went.

Pasifika Art

We used vivid and dye to create our pasifika art. We used patterns from all over the pacific to create our designs. This art represent us coming together as one to create something beautiful.
